Do you need help translating complicated open knowledge concepts and workflows to your audience? Do you want to introduce new and innovative training concepts to your staff? Does your organisation need a fresh start when it comes to communication and dissemination? Do you want to implement an open policy in your institution but don’t know where to start? Are you having trouble funneling your policy ambitions into concrete actions for your staff to take on?
Maybe we can work together!
What I do:
- I have developed a train the trainer card game – it is now being used mainly for open science train-the-trainer activities, but I would love to branch out to scicomms in general.
- Trainings and workshops.
- Communication and dissemination for projects and organisations.
- I give talks and act as a panelist (on open knowledge related topics)
- I write reports.
- I plan, organise and moderate events and panels.
- Lead for Creative Commons Belgium
- Board member for Open Knowledge Belgium
I have been working on open science and open knowledge related topics since 2011. As a consultant, I have always combined long term assignments (such as being the open access programme coordinator for EIFL (ongoing) and acting as the Europe network coordinator for Creative Commons) with short term activities such as event organisation, delivery of trainings/workshops and report writing.
I also love to kickstart or freshen up communication processes – establishing social media workflows, simplifying website content and thinking about innovative ways to communicate complicated content (such as scientific research).
In projects, I am usually part of the ‘dissemination and communication’ workpackages. On several occasions, I have also coordinated local (volunteer) teams worldwide, making sure they remain connected and engaged within the wider project.
I don’t only have a bird’s eye overview about a variety of open science and open knowledge related stuff (such as open access, open science workflows and tools, open licenses, research data management planning, open business models, … ), but I can also help you communicate clearly about these often complicated topics to your staff, to researchers and administration and to the general public. Recently, because of an assignment at the newle established Knowledge Centre for Data & Society, I have broadened my scope towards scicomms in general (in this case, artificial intelligence).
Next to giving training and workshops, I am also an experienced event organiser and moderator. I can make sure your event/panel/workshop runs smoothly – even if I am not presenting myself! If you are insecure about the format of the event you’re organising, I can help you out as well. Because of my experience with various audience types (and group sizes) I can work with you to create a tailor-made event!
If you are interested in inviting me for a talk, want me to run a workshop, facilitate your event, need some advice on a training concept or if you have a project in mind that you want to collaborate on, feel free to get in touch via this contact form.
